About the Event

The touch, related to tactility, is perhaps the mother of all senses as it incorporates the skin. Touch doesn’t refer only to hands but rather to our entire body.

There is also the reversibility of touch: when I touch, I’m also touched. The quantum physics consider the act of touching as an interaction between electrons, which means there isn’t a literal touch as we are used to think. The one that touches and the one who is being touched reveal a process of becoming as they affect each other in an interaction.

The Crossing, germinated from my first year research about repetition as a tool of immanence, is a performance, guiding also the participants to have a sensorial experience in the form of an installation. It treats the self-touch as a connection with the self and aims to move the body beyond self-imposed limitations and isolations into new depths of connection and sensations within the body. The performance investigates the relationship between the self-touch and a state of immanence, which propounds a way of being-in-body, therefore a way of being-in-world, the body being always reimaged with what it interacts with.

Two more performances of our First Year students are being presented the same day, "She actually talks about parts of it" by Analu Fretta and 'Your Favourite Place" by Zuzanna Sonsowska . Check out for more information and reserve your spot!

If you are planning to attend any of the performances, please enter your details to RSVP registration form.
